Car Hire Excess Insurance
When you rent a car with us you will have insurance normally called CDW, however unless you have selected a zero excess package the insurance will have an "excess".
"Excess" is the term used to describe your liability should you be unfortunate to be in an accident or if car is stolen, the cover also covers damage for example if car is scratched whilst parked.
The car hire excess will normally range from Euro500 to over Euro2,000 depending on the car category that you are renting.
It is set high on purpose as the rental company wants to sell you a local daily policy sometimes called super cover ( it has all different fancy names in each country aimed at confusing the customer) but basically if you take out this additional daily insurance cover the expensive excess with be reduced to nil.
Be aware the local cover is expensive and often does not cover damage to underside , windows and tyres which are things that can be easily damaged even with careful driving.
We offer car hire excess insurance that will cover you for the the excess on both damage and theft, plus any damage to windscreens, tryes and underside.
You may take our car rental excess insurance policy out for either the period of the rental or an annual policy if you happen to be a frequent traveler.
Car Rental Excess Insurance
Now be aware your card will still be swiped for the local insurance excess and if an accident you must pay this excess, however after you come home you can then claim the excess amount back via your insurance policy.
All the necessary information of this process will be included in your insurance excess policy documentation , please read carefully before you travel.
